DETROIT (WWJ) Police are searching for two persons of interest in a shooting of a 13-year-old boy on Detroit's west side.

Detroit Police said the shooting happened in the afternoon of Wednesday, April 23, in the area of 7 Mile and Gilchrist.


According to police, an argument broke out between the victim and the suspects.

The teen's mother told WXYZ-Channel 7 she sent her son to the store, and heard gunshots shortly afterward.

She later found him on the ground "near a church and a bus stop", she told WXYZ.

According to his mother; the boy was shot in the leg and the back. He's listed in serious condition but is expected to recover, she said.

The persons of interest (POI) pictured above were nearby at the time of the shooting, police said.

POI #1 is described as wearing a white tank top and blank Adidas pants with her hair in locs. POI #2 is described as wearing a black Adidas jogging outfit.
