The hardest hit areas are in Farmington, White Lake, Oxford, Troy, Pontiac and Livonia. There is also a cluster of outages in the Lapeer County area.
In Farmington, more than 4,300 people are still in the dark as of Wednesday morning.
In the White Lake/Highland Charter Township area, about 1,750 customers are without power, while more than 2,200 customers are off the grid in Pontiac.
There are also significant outages in other areas of Auburn Hills; Rochester Hills; Bloomfield Hills; and West Bloomfield.
