Basketball City on Eastland Street in Roseville was the site of a fatal shooting last night, police said, that began with a fight and ended with a gun battle and death.
At the beginning, two men allegedly got into an argument during a basketball game that turned into a physical fight. It ended when other players intervened and broke them up.
The suspect left, but he returned ... with a gun.
He pointed a gun at the man he had fought with, police said. A CPL holder intervened at the sight and also pulled his gun. The two exchanged gunfire.
The man from the fight was able to leave the building, police said, but he was badly injured in the shooting and died on the scene.
The CPL holder is in custody while police investigate. It's unknown if he will face charges.
