FARMINGTON HILLS (WWJ) – Dr. Zvi Levran is now facing more than 31 counts of criminal sexual conduct after he was charged with four new counts Tuesday.

Levran appeared in 47th District Court in Farmington Hills for a short arraignment, adding more charges in a case that dates back decades.

Levran worked with youth hockey programs in Michigan and Minnesota for more than two decades, providing medical care, including at his home office.

He was first charged back in October after a 19-year-old victim came forward and investigators said they believed there were more victims. In the months since, more have indeed come forward.

Among those victims are the sons of former Detroit police Sgt. Marty Gaynor, who told WWJ’s Mike Campbell he made it a point to be present at the court hearing Tuesday.

“At the beginning, it was probably 20 years ago, and I had been a supervisor in the sex crimes unit in Detroit and I didn’t have a clue,” Gaynor said.

He noted he “kinda wanted” Levran to see him at Tuesday’s arraignment and made sure he did, after avoiding contact at the last court date.

Levran has pleaded not guilty and remains held in the Oakland County Jail. His next court appearance is scheduled for early April.
