Former Michigan youth soccer coach charged with criminal sexual conduct, accused of having relationship with 11-year-old player

LANSING (WWJ) – A Texas man who once worked as a youth soccer coach in Michigan is facing a long list of charges involving criminal sexual conduct.

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced a total of 18 charges against 34-year-old Andrew Olnhausen, who is accused of having an inappropriate sexual relationship with a soccer player that began when they were just 11 years old.

Olnhausen was a youth soccer coach with Fellowship of Christian Athletes in Adrian at the time of the alleged relationship, which lasted until the player was about 16 years old. Officials did not disclose whether the player was male or female.

The Adrian Police Department conducted an investigation and found dozens of naked images of the player on Olnhausen’s cell phone.

Investigators also found other evidence that he was having an inappropriate sexual relaitonship with the victim.

Authorities have not said exactly when the alleged abuse took place.

Olnhausen has been charged with the following crimes:

• Four counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct (CSC) – life offenses with lifetime electronic monitoring
• One count of child sexually abusive activity – a 20-year felony
• Two counts of using a computer to commit a crime – one being a 20-year felony and the other a seven-year felony
• Three counts of second-degree CSC – 15-year felonies
• One count off accosting a child for immoral purposes – a four-year felony
• Five counts of possession of child sexually abusive material – four-year felonies
• One count of distributing sexual material to a minor – a two-year felony
• One count of contributing to delinquency of a minor – a 90-day misdemeanor

Nessel said in a press release she is “committed to ensuring victims of sexual abuse and assault receive justice.”

Olnhausen is now the Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Cornerstone Healthcare Group in Dallas, Texas. U.S. Marshalls arrested him in Texas, where he awaits extradition back to Michigan.
