DETROIT (WWJ) - History Channel's hit show "Pawn Stars" is scheduled to start filing in Detroit on Tuesday, the first of two sessions planned in the next two weeks.
According to a news release, Rick Harrison, Corey Harrison, and Austin "Chumlee" Russell are due in the Motor City beginning Tuesday, Sept. 26 as part of their show "Pawn Stars Do America."
The show will film twice from Sept. 26-28 and then again Oct. 3-5 at a yet unknown location "near Midtown."
Earlier in the month, creators were searching for extras in the Detroit area aged 18 on up to register as a paid extra for all-day filming or to drop in for an hour for free.
Paid extras will earn $150 for eight hours and be provided a free meal.
"Fans of the show can get the chance to mingle on set and watch the Pawn Stars guys film while we are in town. anyone selected to attend is also invited to bring a cool and unique item with them, that they could get the chance to sell on the spot," said the release.
As of Tuesday, Sept. 26, the show was "sold out" for all production days in Detroit, but hopefuls can still join the waitlist for next week's dates.
"If selected to attend, you can even bring a cool and unique item that you think the guys would like, or that you would be interested in selling," officials for Pawn Stars stated.
While there is no guarantee that the item would be bought, the show said they would "love to see what you have!"
Besides Detroit, "Pawn Stars Do America" will visit multiple cities across the country in search of "historical finds and impressive collectible objects." Each episode will follow Rick, Corey and "Chumlee" as they "step out of the World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas to connect with fans in different cities and acquire some of the most remarkable items imaginable."
