PORT HURON (WWJ) – A week after the St. Clair County Sheriff's Office asked for help finding the suspect in a Port Huron supermarket theft, officials are again asking for tips identifying a thief.
Except, this time the suspect isn't a shoplifter.
Police are searching for two men who were seen walking out of the Kroger on 24th Street with a floor scrubber and loading it into a tan Econoline van on Nov. 2.
The commercial machine is valued at more than $7,000, according to the sheriff's office.
"It appears someone is trying to impress their mom at Thanksgiving this year with super clean floors," the sheriff's office said in a humorous Facebook post. "You could do the 'ole sweep, mop, and polish OR this man had a better idea. Steal a floor scrubber. That's sure to make those floors sparkle."
"So if you walk into Thanksgiving dinner and see some shining floors, maybe check around for this fine piece of equipment," the post said.
They're also asking anyone who recognizes the suspect to call the sheriff's office at 810-987-1711.
A trio of suspects who the sheriff's office said stole more than $500 worth of Pokemon cards at a Port Huron Walmart by using an empty baby stroller have been identified.
