Road construction worker hit, killed by car on Grand River Avenue in Ingham County

HOWELL (WWJ) – A road worker has been hit and killed in a crash in Ingham County on Thursday.

Michigan State Police are investigating what exactly caused the crash, which happened on Grand River Avenue near M-52, west of Howell, around 2 p.m.

The road construction worker was not an MDOT employee, but was employed by a contractor.

Authorities did not immediately release the victim's name, age or hometown. It was not clear if the driver or any others were injured.

Grand River Avenue is closed as authorities continue to investigate.
