DETROIT (WWJ) -- The latest round of wintry weather on the way to metro Detroit could make for slick and dangerous conditions on roads and freeways.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory, in effect until 4 a.m. Tuesday for Wayne, Macomb, Oakland, Washtenaw, Monroe, Lenawee and Livingston counties.
AccuWeather Meteorologist Dean DeVore says to expect 1 to 2 inches in most areas of metro Detroit overnight into Tuesday morning, with up to 4 inches possible in suburbs west of Detroit. That's on top of the 2 to 5 inches that fell over the weekend.
"You're going to need to be prepared to be slipping about overnight and into tomorrow morning's commute," DeVore said on WWJ Newsradio 950 on Monday. "It looks pretty slippery, so be on the ready to be up early and spend some extra time getting to where you need to be tomorrow morning."
Most of the snow will fall between 9 p.m. and 2 a.m., AccuWeather said.
Go head and build a little snowman if you have the time — but don't get too attached.
AccWeather says most of the snow will be melting as temperatures are expected to get up into the low 40s on Tuesday and Wednesday, with a mix of sun and rain in the forecast.
On Thursday, DeVore says it'll warm up even more, with a forecasted high near 50 degrees.
