Taylor man charged in crash that killed 12-year-old girl, held on $2 million bond

(WWJ) A Taylor man accused of causing the crash that killed a 12-year-old girl has been slapped with nearly a dozen serious charges including Operating While Intoxicated Causing Death.

Taylor Police say Noah Damron, 20, struck an SUV while traveling at high speed in the area of Northline and Telegraph roads on Wednesday just after midnight.


Investigators believe he was drunk, and they also found a gun in his car at the time of the crash.

An Allen Park couple with their niece, Phoebe Jo Elliot, 12, was inside the SUV. The couple were Phoebe's legal guardians.

The little girl was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Her aunt sustained serious injuries.

Damron, also injured, was arraigned from his hospital bed on: Reckless Driving Causing Death, Reckless Driving Causing a Serious Impairment, Operating While Intoxicated Causing Death, Operating While Intoxicated Causing Serious Injury, Carrying a Concealed Weapon and four counts of Felony Firearm.

He is being held on a $2 million bail. He is due back in court on February 12.
