METRO DETROIT (WWJ) - Spooky season in Metro Detroit may have started off with multiple days of hot, near record-breaking highs during the first week of October -- but don't expect it to last much longer.
WWJ AccuWeather Meteorologist Joe Lundburg said most of Southeast Michigan is enveloped in an unseasonable warm spell that will see temperatures soars to the mid to upper 80s on Tuesday, Oct. 3 and Wednesday, Oct. 4.
"It's going to be another gorgeous day today," Lundberg said. "There's fog patches in some of the areas but the outlying areas, but those will disperse over the next hour or two and then the rest of the day is just going to be nice and sunny and warm and summer-like and feeling like we're turning the clock back a couple of months."

Lundberg said Tuesday's high will reach 84 degrees while the National Weather Service forecasted highs to climb as high as 87 degrees.
Wednesday will be even warmer with a mix of sun and clouds, but a high creeping upward to 85 to 87 degrees.
"The record is 89 from 1951," Lundberg stated. "But we probably won't make it there."
The unseasonable warm up in the Midwest is due to a northern trending jet stream that allowed warm air from the Southern states to sweep up into the Plains and Great Lakes regions.
Records for Sault Ste. Marie and Alpena in the Upper Peninsula were expected to be smashed on Monday, Oct. 2, as temperatures were forecasted to reach 82 to 88 respectively.

Lundberg urged Metro Detroiters to enjoy the warm weather while it lasts. A dramatic drop in temperature is expected by the second half of the week as the cold front plunges into the region.
"Thursday does get cloudier and cooler, a front moving in will mean some showers during the late morning and afternoon hours [with] 70 to 74 degrees behind it," Lundberg added. "Breezy on Friday with clouds and sun and a high in the upper 60s, but a second front comes through Friday night and it's gonna be decidedly cooler behind it for Saturday."
Highs will struggle to reach 56 degrees -- a near 30 degree drop from temperatures on Tuesday and Wednesday.
According to AccuWeather, another weather pattern forecasted to set across the northern Plains late this weekend into the next week could bring another opportunity for warm weather, although it is not expected to be as hot as this week's.
