WARREN (WWJ) -- A Warren man could spend the rest of his life in prison if he'd convicted as charged in the murder of his wife.

According to the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office, police were called to a gas station on Saturday, Sept. 30, where Ricardo Orozco was sitting in the driver’s seat of his Dodge Durango.

Orozco’s wife was then found dead in the back of the SUV with multiple stab wounds, authorities said. Her name and age were not provided in a press release from prosecutors on Wednesday.

Orozco, 56, was arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder, which is a life felony.

He was arraigned Tuesday in 37th Warren District Court, where bond was set at $2 million cash/surety. If Orozco does posts bond and is released from jail, he will be required to wear a GPS tether and forfeit his passport.

"This tragic event has destroyed a family. October being Domestic Violence Awareness Month, let’s remember that violence is never the answer,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido, in a statement.

Authorities have not released any details about what led up to the slaying.

Orozco will be back in court for a probable cause conference scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 17.
