TROY (WWJ) -- An Oakland County woman is facing charges after it's alleged she shoplifted from the high-end store Saks Fifth Avenue, then fled from police.
At around 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 14, Troy police officers identified the driver of a 2008 Chevy Impala as a suspect in "retail fraud" at the Saks store in the Somerset Collection on W. Big Beaver Road.
After it's alleged the woman blew through several stop signs, police followed and attempted to pull her over.
The woman did not stop, police said, and sped off.
Officers terminated the pursuit after they got the suspect's license plate number.
Officers were able to identify the registered owner of the vehicle as the driver and suspect who had been spotted stealing from Saks.
A short time later West Bloomfield officers arrested the 42-year-old woman at her home.
Two of the three missing items from Saks were found in the suspect's possession, police said.
The woman was charged with Retail Fraud 1st Degree, Flee and Elude 3rd Degree, and Driving While License Suspended 2nd Offense.
Her name was not immediately released.
