Should NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell be brought before a U.S. House committee to answer questions about the referees' incompetence during the final two minutes of regulation in the NFC Championship Game? Congressman Cedric Richmond is thinking about it.
I join the countless individuals in the disappointment over Sunday’s NFC Championship game and am eager to hear from @nflcommish directly. All teams deserve equal treatment and the @Saints were clearly denied fair treatment. Read my statement below: pic.twitter.com/hdtzxQuZv2

January 23, 2019 It's the latest example of a public official demanding answers after an NFL officiating crew kept its flags in its pockets despite the clobbering Los Angeles Rams defensive back Nickell Robey-Coleman delivered on Saints receiver Tommylee Lewis well before the ball arrived. A penalty there would have allowed the Saints enough downs to bleed the clock and kick a potential game-winning field goal as time expired.
Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards sent a letter to Goodell asking for an explanation, and New Orleans City Council Vice-President Helena Moreno says the council tomorrow will consider a resolution calling on the league to explain itself.
