WWL is confirming that New Orleans Fire Superintendent Tim McConnell has cancelled the Krewe du Vieux Ball that was supposed to take place 10-pm at Voodoo B on Royal Street after the krewe's parade through the French Quarter.
The cancellation comes as the State Fire Marshall determined the venue where the ball was scheduled to be held was unsuitable and could endanger the lives of the participants and first responders.
No word on whether refunds will be issued.
