A 16-year-old girl has been reunited with her family after Louisiana State Police say she was being pimped out in a New Orleans hotel.

According to state police, troopers had been called to the Sheraton Hotel on Canal Street about an incident. While conducting interviews, the troopers realized one of the subjects was a runaway juvenile listed in their computer system.

"Through interviews, the Troopers found that the juvenile had been beaten, drugged, raped and 'pimped' out by several different men in the past several days," said Trooper Melissa Matey in a news release. "The juvenile was taken to a local hospital for medical evaluation and reunited with her family."

Matey said the subsequent investigation led them to three suspects: 17-year-old Destiny Mears of Mandeville, and 39-year-old Jayson Figueroa and 23-year-old Cordarrell Roudolph, both of Slidell.

"Figueroa and Roudolph were both identified as the individuals who drugged the juvenile with Xanax, Opioids and other drugs, raped her while she was incapacitated and beat her," according to Matey. "Mears was identified as attempting to recruit the juvenile into prostitution."

Authorities located the trio in St. Tammany Parish and arrested them Monday. All three were booked for trafficking of a child for sexual purposes. Figueroa and Roudolph were also booked with second degree rape and felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile. Additional charges may be forthcoming.
