Just hours after New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell announced the cancellation of concerts, parades and other events in the city in the coming days to limit the spread of coronavirus; Louisiana Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser publicly disagreed with the decision.
"Given the information on the coronavirus provided by the CDC, I see no reason to cancel any events or festivals in any part of our state at this time," Nungesser posted to social media.
The Lt. Governor said, "Should this information change, however, we will do whatever is necessary to protect the health and safety of all Louisianians."
