The New Orleans Saints signed defensive ends T.J. Carter and Anthony Lanier II along with linebacker Wynton McManis, the team's executive vice president/general manager Mickey Loomis announced Saturday.
The Saints also waived/injured rookie defensive tackle Jalen Dalton and waived rookie tackle Darrin Paulo, bringing their roster total to 80.
The 6-foot-4, 289-pound Carter was signed as a free agent out of Kentucky following the 2020 NFL Draft. He totaled 71 tackles, 12 for loss, six sacks, five passes defensed during his four-year career in Lexington.
Former Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Lanier (6-6, 285) spent last year as a member of the Los Angeles Chargers squad, while McManis (6-1, 225) joins the Saints after spending the last three seasons with the CFL's Calgary Stampeders where he logged 104 tackles, four sacks, two forced fumbles and 41 special teams stops.
