Ash Wednesday will remain cool again today with high temperatures only reaching a high of 55 this afternoon.

We are much colder than our average temperatures should normally be.  Normal highs are in the mid 60s to around 70s.

But the New Orleans metro area will slowly begin to warm up over the next few days.

"A southerly flow for us tomorrow and that means we're starting to warm up beginning tomorrow, all the way through the weekend," said local weather expert, WWL-TV meteorologist Dave Nussbaum.

The rain chances will also go up by the weekend, according to Nussbaum.
