New Orleans Police are investigating a fatality involving a passenger train Wednesday morning.
The incident happened where the Amtrak train tracks cross under S. Norman C. Francis Pkwy. near I-10.
An Amtrak spokesman told NOLA.com that a man was on the tracks and was hit shortly after 9 a.m. as the Sunset Limited was leaving for Los Angeles.
Police say they are investigating the incident as an unclassified death at this time.
