The City of New Orleans is set to launch a new emergency notification initiative known as “Bryan’s Call” following the heartbreaking case of a young boy who was found dead two weeks after being reported missing.
Officials say the system will officially go live Monday and will operate through the city’s NOLA Ready alert network.
The initiative is designed to quickly spread information to the public when vulnerable children or individuals go missing, helping increase awareness during the critical early hours of a disappearance.
City leaders say the program was created in honor of Bryan, whose disappearance captured attention and sparked renewed conversations about emergency communication and community response efforts.
Through the system, residents who are signed up with NOLA Ready can receive alerts and updates directly to their phones and devices when urgent missing persons situations arise.
Officials are encouraging residents to make sure they are registered with the NOLA Ready system so they can receive notifications once Bryan’s Call becomes active.
The city says the goal is simple; get critical information to the public faster and strengthen the community response when every minute matters.
