The city of New Orleans has told Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness Director Collin Arnold to stay home for a while as his DWI case is investigated.
"I can say at this point: Collin has been suspended with out pay for 20 days while the matter is under investigation," said New Orleans Mayor's Office Communications Director Beau Tidwell Tuesday morning.
Arnold was arrested last week on suspicion of driving while intoxicated after crashing his city-owned vehicle. Police say Arnold appeared intoxicated, but he refused a breathalyzer test.
The arrest report states Arnold was found asleep at the wheel of the crashed car, and had slurred speech. Police say he failed a field sobriety test.
