The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office says deputies have arrested a New Orleans man on multiple drug charges.

Steven Johnson, 29, of the 3800 block of Jena Street in New Orleans, was booked after police say they found cocaine, heroin, and fentanyl in his car.

"SID Narcotics Unit agents who were in the Chalmette area conducted a traffic stop for dark tinted windows and blacked out taillights on a black Chevrolet Avalanche traveling near the intersection of Tyler Street and Victor Street," Public Information Officer Kim Gritter said in a news release.

She says agents recovered nine clear plastic bags containing heroin and fentanyl with a combined weight of 29.5 grams and $1,706 in cash.

"Based on the above information, Johnson was transported to St. Bernard Parish Prison to be booked."

Police also charged Johnson with obscenity, transactions involving proceeds from drug offenses, obstruction, introduction of contraband into a correctional facility, window tint 30%, color of lamps/tail lights must be red, suspended driver's license and possession of drug paraphernalia.
