An early morning crash shut down the interstate from LaPlace to Kenner.
Police closed the I-10 across the Bonnet Carre Spillway.
Among the vehicles involved was an 18-wheeler that jackknifed across all lanes of the bridge.
It happened shortly after 3:15am.
A large tow truck was on the scene before 5:00am, but the big rig was still sprawled across the roadway, not letting any traffic through.
Around 5:45am police finally opened one lane after the 18-wheeler was moved to the side, letting drivers who were stuck behind the crash for two-and-a-half hours through.
All lanes were reopen around 6:15am.
