It's time for early voting in New Orleans and about half of Louisiana.
While the mayoral primary is New Orleans gets the bulks of the coverage, there are also elections or ballot issues in 30 other parishes. They range from the mayor's race in Slidell to tax propositions and other races and issues in other place.

Early voting starts Saturday, will be closed on Sunday, then will go Monday through Saturday, October 4.
Election day is October 11th.
Voter turnout in New Orleans has been low in most recent elections.
Pollster John Couvillon with JMC Analytics says once we start getting early voting turnout data, we can learn a few things.
"What is interesting is looking at statistical information about early voters, such as their race, their party, their gender, and you can kind of get ideas about who is voting and more importantly who is not voting," said Couvillon.
Couvillon says it would be a mistake to start guessing who's going to win before we see those results after 8 p.m. on October 11, but it can offer clues about how turnout will go for the election.
"When you're looking at the daily volume for early voting, you can get a reasonable idea for what the final turnout will be," he said.
