An elderly woman may have accidently left her car in reverse and got out at a Metairie business. Police found her under the vehicle.
"Just before 10:00 am, deputies responded to a report of an unoccupied running vehicle, in the parking lot of a business, in the 2100 block of Clearview Pkwy.," Sergeant Brandon Veal said in an email.
He says that's when they found the woman.
"Upon arrival, deputies located an unconscious elderly female underneath the passenger’s side of a gray sedan. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment, where she was later pronounced dead," Veal said. "Our preliminary investigation indicates that the sedan may not have been engaged in the park position before the victim exited. The reverse lights were found on upon deputies arrival. The investigation will continue to determine what led to the incident."
