Get ready for four days of music, food, and fun as the French Quarter Festival returns with an even bigger celebration this year.

Festival organizers say 2026 will bring an expanded territory, more performances than ever before, and new experiences for attendees to enjoy across the French Quarter.

CEO Emily Madero says this year’s event is shaping up to be one to remember.

“It’s going to be a spectacular year,” Madero said. “We’ve expanded, we’ve added more music, and we’re bringing back some crowd favorites.”

Among those returning is hometown favorite PJ Morton, along with a wide range of local artists showcasing the city’s signature sound.

New this year, festivalgoers can also take part in a 5K fun run, adding another way to experience the event beyond the music stages and food booths.

The celebration kicks off in true New Orleans fashion with an Opening Day Parade, starting on the 200 block of Bourbon Street and making its way to Jackson Square.

Following the parade, organizers will host a brief opening ceremony before the Preservation Brass Band officially gets the weekend started with a performance.

With a packed schedule and something for everyone, organizers say this year’s festival continues to highlight the culture, music, and community that make New Orleans unique.

Know before you go...

  • Festival hours run daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • French Quarter Festival is a fully cashless event. Cash exchange stations will be available at the JAX Lot near the Willow Dispensary Stage for those who need them.
  • Several stage locations have been updated for 2026, so organizers recommend checking the official festival map before arriving.
  • Transportation is expected to be busy. Attendees are encouraged to use rideshare, biking, or public transit, or to park outside the French Quarter and walk in. Road closures and heavy traffic are expected.
  • Accessible viewing areas and accommodations are available throughout the festival grounds. Visitors can stop by an information tent or check the festival website for details.
  • The event will take place rain or shine, so attendees should check the forecast and plan accordingly.
  • Organizers are also encouraging festivalgoers to support the event’s “$5 for Fest” campaign, which helps keep the festival free while supporting local music, food, and culture.
