One person is dead after an afternoon shooting at a Harvey apartment complex.
According to Jefferson Parish Sheriff Joe Lopinto, deputies responded to a call about a shooting on Manhattan Boulevard near the Westbank Expressway just after 1 p.m. Saturday. Lopinto says when his deputies arrived at the complex, they found the victim, who they say suffered a body wound. Authorities pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
Lopinto says investigators later learned that the victim had been shot at an apartment complex two blocks away before someone dropped off his body at the location from which the call was made.
The victim has been identified only as a male. So far, no suspects have been named.
