Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s launched a manhunt earlier today for a narcotics suspect after trying to make a series of arrests on Airline Drive and North Upland Avenue in Metairie.
Police say the suspects fled, deputies immediately captured two individuals, but then had to search for a third who was said to be armed.
They used the JPSO chopper and canine units to track down the suspect near the area of Airline and North Upland.
One of the police dogs found the suspect in the back yard of a home and apprehended him.
The suspect is being treated for a dog bite and will be taken into custody.
Cops had set up a perimeter around the area, limiting traffic during the search for the reportedly armed suspect.
But now that he’s been located and apprehended, police have lifted the roadblocks and returned the chopper to its home base.
