Water pressure is slowly building in Lafourche Parish after waterworks crews repaired a water main break that knocked out water supplies across the parish.
According to officials with Lafourche Parish Water District No. 1, crews completed those repairs at the South Treatment Plant on Friday. They say water pressure across the parish should continue to increase throughout the day and into the night in the affected areas.
Once water service is reestablished to impacted areas, boil advisories will be in effect until further notice. In addition, water district customers are urged to conserve their water usage until water pressure returns to full strength.
