Laurie White, the special prosecutor who oversaw the grand jury indictment of Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill, is asking a judge to block a subpoena from Murrill's defense lawyers.
The defense wants records from White and from New Orleans District Attorney Jason Williams about the grand jury investigation that led to the criminal accusations against Murrill.
The attorney general is charged with eight felony counts of malfeasance in office, and eight felony counts of intimidation and retaliation.
White called the defense subpoenas a retaliatory campaign of harassment.
