There’s no shortage of festivities in the New Orleans area this weekend. Both Jazz Fest and the Zurich Classic kick off, with people arriving in droves both locally and nationally to attend.

If you’re not a fan of golf and find yourself priced out of the Jazz & Heritage Festival, there’s another festival close to home that might be right up your alley. The Plaquemines Parish Seafood Festival runs from April 25th – April 27th and will feature fresh local seafood, crafts, live music, carnival rides, and more.

If you’re interested in attending, the event kicks off on Friday at 333 F Edward Hebert Blvd in Belle Chase. Children under 12 years old get in free, and adult admission is only $5. On Friday, festival hours run from 6 pm until 10:30 pm. On Saturday, the festival runs from 11:30 am until 10:30 pm.
Sunday will be the final day, where the festival rolls on from 11:30 am until 8:30 pm.

With all the hustle and bustle (and potentially bank-busting amount of money being spent) at the more prominent events this weekend, this might be the more low-key family outing you’re looking for. Details of the event can be found at the festival's website.
