There is a lot to see and do on the river for Lundi Gras, and all of it involves the Zulu king.
The Zulu Social Aid & Pleasure Club holds its annual Lundi Gras Party in Woldenberg Park. It starts at 10 a.m. and features performances from dozens of local artists, appearances by Zulu characters, and at 5 p.m., the Zulu king himself arrives.
But before the king shows up there, he'll be in Kenner's Rivertown, for the meeting of the royal courts of Zulu and Argus.
That event begins at 11 a.m., with a performance by the Topcats.
And Zulu will end his busy day at Spanish Plaza. The annual Lundi Gras Celebration presented by the Riverwalk starts at 11 a.m. with local musicians leading up to the arrival of Rex and the King of Carnival's meet-up with Zulu at 6 p.m., followed by Rex's Mardi Gras proclamation and fireworks over the river at 6:25.
