New Orleans Police today say a woman fatally struck a pedestrian last night on the Westbank.
It happened around 10:40 p.m. at General De Gaulle and Westbend Parkway.
"Upon arrival and further investigation, detectives determined that a known female driver was traveling southbound on General De Gaulle Drive when an adult male pedestrian reportedly ran into the roadway and was struck by the vehicle," said police. "The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was declared deceased."
The driver stayed on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
