New Orleans Police homicide detectives are investigating a fatal shooting in the heart of the French Quarter.
Police say shortly after 4 a.m. Saturday, officers were sent to investigate a shooting in the 600 block of Bourbon Street near the corner of Toulouse.
"Upon arrival, officers located an adult male gunshot wound victim on scene," said police in a statement. "The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased."
