New Orleans Mayor-elect Helena Moreno is ready to take office, even though she's got to wait three months.
"It's kind of surreal because I am also so focused... I just want to get to work," she explained. "I probably need to take some time to just let it seep in and enjoy it, but I already turned to work mode."
Moreno says the election was hard work, but the "real work" starts now to turn around the city of New Orleans.
She also warned that while she will take the city in a new direction, she can't fix all of the problems right away.
"I will do everything I can, every single day to make the people of New Orleans proud. Obviously, I am certainty not a perfect person by any means, but what you will get from me is someone is always out there working for you."
Moreno pledged to be a 24-7 mayor, but wanted to manage expectations of an immediate turnaround.
