When is a murder not a murder?
New Orleans Police announced Friday that new information in two homicide cases have led them to reclassify them as unclassified deaths.
The department says after examinations by the Orleans Parish Coroner's Office, consultations with pathology and additional evidence obtained in these investigations, incidents July 11 in the 2000 block of Franklin Ave. and July 12 in the 1800 block of South White are no longer being investigated as homicides.
That does not mean the cases are closed.
NOPD says homicide detectives will continue investigating the circumstances surrounding these two incidents.
