New Orleans Police homicide detectives are investigating a fatal shooting in the 3200 block of Dumaine Street.
Police say shortly before 8:00 a.m. Saturday, officers were sent to investigate a call of a man shot in that location.
"The victim was transported via EMS to a local hospital, where they were subsequently declared deceased.," said police in a statement.
This homicide followed a violent evening in New Orleans. Police found a homicide victim in the 1800 block of Hollygrove Street earlier Saturday morning. The man appeared to have suffered blunt trauma. Another man was shot in the leg early Saturday at the corner of North Dorgenois and Elysian Fields. And Friday evening, officers responded to a shooting and found a dead man in the 1500 block of North Claiborne Ave.
