Two people are recovering after separate shootings that happened within miles and minutes of each other.
According to New Orleans Police Department spokesperson, the first happened around 5:50 p.m. on France Street near North Derbigny Street in the Upper Ninth Ward. Authorities say a woman suffered a body wound.
The second shooting happened around 20 minutes later about four miles away in New Orleans East. An NOPD spokesperson says officers got the call from Downman Road near Dwyer Road just before 6:15 p.m. Investigators say a man was shot in the body. An EMS crew took him to the hospital.
