NOPD: Two wounded in separate overnight shootings

Two people, including a teenager, are in the hospital after two separate overnight shootings in New Orleans.

According to a New Orleans Police Department spokesperson, the first shooting happened just before 9 p.m. Sunday in Algiers. Authorities say a teenage was shot on Tullis Drive near Maumus Avenue. Someone drove that teen to the hospital, after which hospital personnel notified police of the shooting.


The second shooting happened just after 1 a.m. Monday on Chef Menteur Highway near Alcee Fortier Boulevard in New Orleans East. According to the NOPD spokesperson, police found a wounded man when they arrived. An EMS crew took the man to the hospital.

The spokesperson did not disclose the victims' conditions. So far, police have made no arrests in either case.
