According to JPSO Sgt. Jason Rivarde, Denis Castro-Andrade is facing attempted second-degree murder, possession of a weapon in school grounds, and possession of a weapon under the age of 18 charges. He remains in the Jefferson Parish Jail.
Castro-Andrade is accused of shooting an 18-year-old just after noon on Thursday. That shooting, deputies say, happened across the street from the school.
