The NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad and U.S. Marshals say they made two arrests in an Algiers homicide investigation.

Authorities say the NOPD agents with U.S. Marshals arrested Brandon Hamilton and a 16-year-old juvenile.

The fatal shooting happened last Friday, Feb. 18 in the 2100 block of Cobblestone Lane.

An NOPD report says, “Shortly before 7:00 a.m. on February 18, NOPD Fourth District officers responded to a reported shooting at the location. Upon their arrival, officers located a male victim inside of an apartment and having sustained an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by EMS.”

Through the course of the investigation, NOPD homicide detectives identified both Hamilton and the juvenile male as suspects in this incident and obtained arrest warrants for each suspect.

Agents found both suspects today at separate locations in New Orleans, where they were arrested without incident.

The juvenile suspect was booked into the Juvenile Justice Intervention Center on a charge of second-degree murder, while Hamilton was booked with second-degree murder and for violation of probation.
