A U.S Army Second Lieutenant sues Harrah’s Casino in New Orleans after she was denied entry despite showing a state driver’s license and military identification.

As Nola.com reports, last month, Harrah’s security manager refused to allow Deja Dashante Harrison to enter the casino because the manager did allegedly says he did not believe the credentials she presented were valid.

On Monday, Harrison, 23, filed a lawsuit in Orleans Parish Civil District Court against the casino and its parent company, alleging she was racially profiled and humiliated. Harrison says she, a friend, and her brother were there to celebrate a birthday.

Harrison posted to social media a video of the confrontation with the security manager.

The video shows Harrison asking the security manager why she is denied entry after producing her Louisiana's driver's license, vaccination card and military ID.

As the news outlet reports, Caesars Entertainment spokesperson Kate Whitely issued a statement saying in part;

“In this case, Ms. Harrison, who appeared to be under 30, presented a Louisiana driver’s license that did not clear our electronic verification system. When asked for an alternative form of identification, she presented a military ID card, but the information on the military ID card did not match the information she had verbally communicated to our security officers…”

The lawsuit asks Harrah’s to acknowledge it violated Harrison’s human rights and wants the policy changed while also asking for an unspecified amount of damages.
