Near record heat sticks around today through the weekend.
"Expect warm weather with temperatures in the mid 80s," WWL TV Meteorologist Payton Malone forecasts.
That changes in a big way next week before Halloween.
"A strong cold front is expected to arrive Monday. Temps could climb into the low 80s before the front arrives, and then drop by Monday evening and night."
Malone says expect brisk winds Monday night and all-day for Halloween Tuesday.
"Temperatures may not get out of the 50s and it'll feel like the 40s for the trick-or-treaters. Bundle up!"
He expects it to get even colder later next week.
"A chilly morning Thursday in the 30s and 40s with highs in the mid to upper 60s. A chilly end to October and start to November!"
