The Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans canceled its precautionary boil advisory for parts of Uptown.
"Bacteriological tests confirmed that water is safe to drink," the utility announced, a little more than a day after a loss in water pressure in the area prompted the alert.
The boil advisory was the second one for the area this week.
Monday morning, a four-foot wide water main broke underneath S. Claiborne and Louisiana avenues, causing a loss in water service and a boil advisory for a much larger area.
