A woman is facing murder charges after he allegedly gave a Slidell jail inmate the drugs that police say killed her.
According to Slidell Police Chief Randy Fandal, Sarah Blackmon admitted to detectives that she smuggled what police believe to be fentanyl into the jail by hiding it in her vagina. That, Fandal says, allowed Blackmon to get through a security checkpoint without officers detecting the drugs. Blackmon then allegedly slipped the drugs to Theresa Zar.
Fandal also accuses Blackmon, 39, of failing to call for help after seeing Zar, 25, go into distress from overdosing.
Blackmon has been booked into jail on second-degree murder, failure to seek assistance, and introducing contraband into a penal institution charges. If convicted on the murder charge, Blackmon will face an automatic life sentence.
