
The mugshot of a man from West Yorkshire in England went viral over the weekend, causing local police to reportedly disable comments on their Twitter post as people were more interested in going on a date with him than turning him in.
West Yorkshire Police issued a statement regarding the suspect, who they identified as 37-year-old Jonathan Cahill. He was recently released from prison after serving a portion of his sentence from a burglary charge, is nbut ow wanted on recall to prison.
"Cahill, 37, was released from prison last September after serving part of a sentence for burglary. He is believed to have breached the terms of his release and has now been recalled to prison," the statement said.
Police added that Cahill has a medium build, and is about six feet tall. They said he is believed to be currently living in Wakefield.
Some of the flirtatious comments on the police's tweet, showing Cahill's mugshot, were from people who said they would love to "keep him" if they found him.
"If I find him, I’ll keep him," tweeted @molamazo8.
While @c3004 said, "Beautiful beautiful, if I see it it's mine haha."
One commenter suggested that Cahill should use his looks to his benefit, and attempt a career at acting or modeling.
"Try your luck in movies or modelling. you can be next Jeremy Meeks," @AndyDuf51100338 tweeted.
Meeks rose to fame after he was arrested in 2014 and was nicknamed the "hot felon" after his mugshot went viral. The viral Facebook post eventually got him a modeling job in 2018.
West Yorkshire Police said that anyone that assists them in finding Cahill is asked to contact police in Wakefield on 101 or use the contact options of the police website.
