High winds and the powerful line of thunderstorms moving across the state so far have knocked out power to tens of thousands of customers in Louisiana.
Entergy reports more than 38,000 customers without power statewide. More than 7,600 are without power in Jefferson Parish, with outages in parts of Metairie, Kenner, and River Ridge.
There are about 700 outages in New Orleans, with a cluster of nearly 300 outages in the Mid City area.
