Warmer temperatures are on the way to the New Orleans Metro Area today. Highs will reach the mid- to upper-70s this afternoon, on Saturday, and on Sunday. Those temperatures will rise into the 80s by early next week.
A few showers are possible today, but don't hold your breath. You may want to hold your breath, though, for the smokey smell wafting over the region. That pungent odor coes from the wildfire burning near Bayou Sauvage. The north winds we're experiencing will become a southeast wind, which will give us some relief from that smell. However, it will come with an increase in humidity and the possibility of fog.
