CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — At least three burglaries early Thursday were reported to have been committed by the same crew and the spree hit close to home for Governor Pritzker.

The burglaries occurred at convenience stores in Lakeview between about 4:00-4:30 a.m. on the 29 block of North Broadway Street and the 400 block of West Belmont Avenue.

The burglars were described as armed men in a dark four door pick-up.

CWB Chicago reported that they were caught on surveillance video leaving the Belmont burglary and heading south on Lake Shore Drive. They took two cash registers and merchandise, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

Minutes later, police were called to the 1400 block of North Astor Street. Someone saw the men dumping a cash register taken from one of the burglaries in front of the governor’s home.

Minutes after that, there was another burglary at Burberry on the 600 block of North Michigan Avenue, which is the second burglary there this week.

Police said that the burglars fled in a pick-up. A security guard working at Burberry told officers she was in the bathroom at the time of the burglary, according to the police report.
